Article 1 [Scope]
1. Accommodation contracts entered into between this Hotel and guests to be accommodated and related agreements shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions. Any matters not provided for in these Terms shall be governed by laws, regulations, or generally accepted practices.
2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, should the Hotel enter into a special contract with the guest insofar as such special contract does not violate laws, regulations, and generally accepted practices, the special contract shall take precedence over the relevant provisions of these Terms and Conditions.
Article 2 [Application for Accommodation Contract]
1. A person who desires to apply for an accommodation contract with this Hotel shall notify the Hotel of the following particulars:
(1) Name of the guest(s);
(2) Date of accommodation and expected time of arrival;
(3) Accommodation charges (basically based on the Basic Accommodation Fee listed in Appended Table 1);
(4) Other particulars deemed necessary by the Hotel.
2. If the guest requests, during their stay, an extension of accommodation beyond the date stated in item (2), it shall be treated as a new application for an accommodation contract at the time such request is made.
Article 3 [Formation of Accommodation Contract, etc.]
1. An accommodation contract shall be deemed to have been formed when this Hotel has duly accepted the application prescribed in the preceding Article. Provided, however, that this shall not apply when it is proven that the Hotel has not accepted the application.
2. When an accommodation contract has been formed pursuant to the preceding paragraph, the guest shall pay, by the date specified by this Hotel, an accommodation deposit fixed by the Hotel within the limit of the Basic Accommodation Fee (or, if the accommodation period exceeds three (3) days, within the limit of the Basic Accommodation Fee for three (3) days).
3. The deposit shall be applied first to the total accommodation charges payable by the guest, then to the cancellation fee prescribed in Article 6, and then to the compensation prescribed in Article 18, if applicable, and the remainder, if any, shall be refunded at the time of payment of the accommodation charges set forth in Article 12.
4. If the guest fails to pay the deposit by the date specified in Article 3, Paragraph 2, this Hotel shall treat the accommodation contract as invalid. However, this applies only when the Hotel has notified the guest thereof when specifying the deposit payment deadline.
Article 4 [Special Contract Requiring No Accommodation Deposit]
1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 2 of the preceding Article, the Hotel may enter into a special contract not requiring the payment of an accommodation deposit after the contract has been formed as set forth in that paragraph.
2. If the Hotel, when accepting an application for an accommodation contract, has not requested the payment of the deposit prescribed in Paragraph 2 of the preceding Article nor specified the date for its payment, it shall be deemed that the Hotel has accepted the special contract prescribed in the preceding paragraph.
Article 5 [Refusal of Accommodation Contract]
This Hotel may decline to enter into an accommodation contract under any of the following circumstances:
(1) The application for accommodation does not conform to the provisions of these Terms and Conditions;
(2) The Hotel is fully booked and no vacancy is available;
(3) The person seeking accommodation is deemed likely to commit, during their stay, an act contrary to laws or public order or good morals;
(4) The person seeking accommodation is clearly detected as having an infectious disease;
(5) The Hotel is requested to assume an unreasonable burden in connection with their accommodation;
(6) The Hotel is unable to provide accommodation due to natural disaster, malfunction of facilities, and/or other unavoidable causes;
(7) The person seeking accommodation, due to severe intoxication or other reasons, is likely to cause annoyance to other guests, is actually acting in a disorderly manner, or is disturbing or annoying other guests;
(8) The person seeking accommodation engages in violent acts, makes threats, intimidates, makes violent demands, or makes any other coercive or unreasonable demands or behaves in such a manner;
(9) The person seeking accommodation behaves in a destructive or dangerous manner, causes trouble to other guests, or acts in any other way that might cause trouble to the facilities or other guests;
(10) The person seeking accommodation has, in the past, violated the provisions of Article 5, items (3), (5), (8), or (9);
(11) The person seeking accommodation is a member of a violent group, affiliated with a violent group, or is a part of or associated with an organization connected to a violent group;
(12) The person seeking accommodation is associated with a corporation or organization whose board members or members are identified as violent group members and who control its business;
(13) The person seeking accommodation is a part of or a member of an anti-social group that threatens social order and safety;
(14) The guest brings pets (including but not limited to various animals);
Article 6 [Right of the Guest to Cancel Accommodation Contract]
1. The guest is entitled to cancel the accommodation contract by notifying the Hotel.
2. If the guest cancels the accommodation contract in whole or in part due to reasons attributable to the guest (unless the Hotel requests payment of the deposit within the specified period pursuant to Article 3, Paragraph 2, and the guest cancels before payment), the guest shall pay a cancellation fee as listed in Appended Table 2. However, if a special contract as prescribed in Article 4, Paragraph 1 has been entered into, the provisions of this paragraph shall apply only when the Hotel has informed the guest that a cancellation fee is payable upon cancellation.
3. If the guest does not appear by 8:00 p.m. of the accommodation date (or, if the Hotel has been notified of the expected arrival time, two (2) hours past that expected arrival time) without advance notice, the Hotel may deem the accommodation contract cancelled by the guest.
Article 7 [Right of the Hotel to Cancel Accommodation Contract]
1. The Hotel may cancel the accommodation contract under any of the following circumstances. Furthermore, the Hotel shall not be liable for any damage caused to the guest by the cancellation of the accommodation contract based on this Article.
(1) When the guest falls under any of the items listed in Article 5 of the Accommodation Contract Terms, or such facts are discovered during the guest’s stay.
(2) When the guest is deemed likely to commit, or actually commits, an act contrary to laws or public order and good morals;
(3) When the guest is clearly detected as having an infectious disease;
(4) When the Hotel is requested to assume an unreasonable burden in connection with the accommodation;
(5) When the Hotel is unable to provide accommodation due to natural disaster or other force majeure causes;
(6) When the person seeking accommodation, due to severe intoxication or other reasons, is likely to cause annoyance to other guests, is actually acting in a disorderly manner, or is disturbing or annoying other guests;
(7) When the guest fails to observe prohibited actions such as smoking in bed, tampering with fire-fighting facilities, and other prohibitions stipulated in the Hotel’s usage regulations (limited to matters deemed necessary for fire prevention).
2. If the Hotel cancels the accommodation contract pursuant to the preceding paragraph, the Hotel shall not be entitled to charge the guest for services not rendered during the contract period.
Article 8 [Registration]
3. The guest shall register the following matters at the front desk of the Hotel on the day of accommodation:
(1) Name, age, gender, address, and occupation of the guest(s);
(2) Non-Chinese nationals: Nationality, passport number, port and date of entry into China, etc.;
(3) Scheduled date of departure and expected time;
(4) Other particulars deemed necessary by the Hotel.
4. The Hotel only supports payment methods such as cash, bank card (debit or credit), Alipay, WeChat, etc. If the guest intends to pay the accommodation charges stipulated in Article 12 using other methods (e.g., checks, virtual currency, etc.), the Hotel reserves the right to refuse payment methods not accepted by the Hotel and request the guest to use payment methods permitted by the Hotel.
Article 9 [Guest Room Usage Hours]
5. Hotel check-in time is 15:00 on the scheduled day of the room, and check-out time is 12:00 noon on the date of departure.
6. The guest is entitled to use the booked hotel guest room from 15:00 on the arrival date until 12:00 noon of the following day. However, if the guest stays consecutively, the guest room may be used all day except for the arrival date and the departure date.
7. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the Hotel may permit the guest to use the guest room outside the hours stipulated in the same paragraph. In such cases, the following additional charges shall be paid:
(1) Up to 18:00 on the check-out day: 50% of the room charge
(2) After 18:00 on the check-out day: 100% of the room charge
Article 10 [Compliance with Usage Regulations]
The guest shall comply with the usage regulations established by the Hotel and posted within the hotel premises.
Article 11 [Business Hours]
The business hours of the main facilities, etc. of the Hotel are as follows. Business hours of other facilities, etc. shall be detailed in provided brochures, notices posted in various locations, in-room service guides, and other methods deemed suitable by the Hotel:
(1) Service hours for Front Desk, Cashier, etc.
A. Closing time: None
B. Front desk service: 24-hour service
C. Foreign currency exchange service: 24-hour service
Article 12 [Payment of Accommodation Charges]
1. The breakdown etc. of the accommodation charges etc. payable by the guest shall be as listed in Appended Table 1.
2. The accommodation charges, etc. mentioned in the preceding paragraph shall be paid at the front desk at the time of the guest’s departure or upon request by the Hotel, using methods recognized by the Hotel.
3. Even if the guest voluntarily does not use accommodation facilities provided by the Hotel and available for use, the accommodation charges shall still be paid.
Article 13 [Responsibility of the Hotel]
If the Hotel causes damage to the guest in the performance or non-performance of the accommodation contract or related agreements, the Hotel shall compensate for that damage. However, this shall not apply in cases where the damage is caused by reasons not attributable to the Hotel.
Article 14 [Procedure When Contracted Guest Rooms are Unavailable]
1. When the Hotel is unable to provide contracted guest rooms, the Hotel shall, as far as practicable and with the consent of the guest, arrange accommodation of equivalent standard elsewhere.
2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, if arrangement of other accommodation is not possible, the Hotel shall pay a compensation fee equivalent to the cancellation fee to the guest, which shall be applied as compensation. However, if the inability to provide accommodation is due to reasons not attributable to the Hotel, the Hotel shall not compensate the guest.
Article 15 [Handling of Deposited Articles]
1. If any article, cash, or valuables deposited by the guest with the Hotel are lost, damaged, or otherwise impaired, the Hotel shall compensate the guest, except when this is due to force majeure. The guest shall provide the corresponding purchase receipt, and the Hotel shall compensate within the purchase price of the article; if the relevant receipt cannot be provided, the Hotel shall compensate within the limit of 1,000 RMB. However, for cash and valuables, if the Hotel has requested the guest to declare their type and value but the guest failed to do so, the Hotel shall not assume any compensation liability.
2. If any article, cash, or valuables brought into the hotel premises by the guest but not deposited with the Hotel are lost, damaged, or otherwise impaired due to the intent or negligence of the Hotel, the Hotel shall compensate the guest. The guest shall provide the corresponding purchase receipt, and the Hotel shall compensate within the purchase price of the article; if the relevant receipt cannot be provided, the Hotel shall compensate within the limit of 1,000 RMB. However, for articles whose type and value were not declared in advance by the guest, the Hotel shall not assume any compensation liability.
Article 16 [Custody of Guest Luggage or Articles]
1. If a guest’s luggage is delivered to the Hotel prior to their arrival, the Hotel shall be responsible for its custody only when the Hotel has accepted such a request. Said luggage shall be handed over to the guest at the front desk upon check-in.
2. If, after the guest’s departure, any luggage or articles are found left behind and ownership of the item is confirmed, the Hotel shall notify the owner and seek further instructions. If the owner gives no instructions or ownership cannot be confirmed, the Hotel shall keep the article for a maximum of 365 days and then dispose of it independently.
3. Regarding the Hotel’s responsibility for the custody of guest’s luggage and articles in the two cases mentioned above: in the case of Paragraph 1, it shall be in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 1 of the preceding Article; in the case of Paragraph 2, it shall be in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 2 of the same Article.
4. For the storage and disposal of specific items, please refer to Article 5 of the Article Storage Terms.
Article 17 [Responsibility Regarding Parking]
When a guest uses the parking lot within the hotel premises, the Hotel shall not assume responsibility for the custody of the guest’s vehicle, regardless of whether the vehicle key has been deposited with the Hotel, as this is considered solely the provision of parking space. However, the Hotel shall compensate the guest for damage caused by the intent or negligence of the Hotel in the management of the parking lot.
Article 18 [Responsibility of the Guest]
The guest shall compensate the Hotel for damages caused intentionally or negligently by the guest to the Hotel.
Article 19 [Governing Language]
These Terms are written in Chinese, English and Japanese. Should there be any inconsistency or discrepancy between the three versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.
Article 20 [Jurisdiction and Governing Law]
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the Chinese court having jurisdiction over the location of the Hotel and settled in accordance with applicable Chinese law.

Appended Table 2 Notes:
1. Percentages indicate the ratio of the cancellation fee to the accommodation package charges (including meal charges).
2. When the contracted accommodation period is shortened, regardless of the number of shortened days, the guest shall pay the cancellation fee for the first day of the cancelled period.
Safe Deposit Box Terms of Use
Article 1 — Period and Fee for Use
1.1 The period of use of the safe deposit box shall be limited to the period during which the user is staying as a guest of this Hotel.
1.2 No fee shall be charged for the use of the safe deposit box.
Article 2 — Opening and Closing of Safe Deposit Box
2.1 The safe deposit box may be opened and closed only by the person who signed the Safe Deposit Box Registration Form (the “Registration Form”).
2.2 A person who desires to open the safe deposit box shall sign the withdrawal or collection column of the Registration Form and submit the Registration Form, the safe deposit box key, and the user’s room key to the hotel staff.
Article 3 — Custody of Key, etc.
3.1 The user shall keep the safe deposit box key by themselves during the period of use.
3.2 Upon completion of the use of the safe deposit box, the user shall return the safe deposit box key to this Hotel.
Article 4 — Loss of Key
4.1 If the user loses the safe deposit box key, 1,000 RMB shall be paid as compensation fee.
4.2 If the user wishes to open the safe deposit box after losing the key, the user’s signature will be verified, and the user will be requested to submit their room key. Furthermore, a guarantor may be requested if necessary.
Article 5 — Signature Verification, etc.
If this Hotel has exercised all reasonable care in identifying the user by confirming the user’s signature contained in the Registration Form and confirming the submitted Registration Form, safe deposit box key, and room key, and has opened the safe deposit box and performed other appropriate actions after confirming the user’s identity, this Hotel shall not be liable for any damage caused by the forgery or imitation of any signature, theft or misuse of the safe deposit box key or room key.
Article 6 — Liability for Damage
6.1 This Hotel shall not assume liability arising from the loss, destruction, deterioration, or other damage to the contents of the safe deposit box caused by disasters, riots, and other causes generally defined as “force majeure”, or for reasons not attributable to this Hotel.
6.2 If damage is caused due to reasons attributable to the user (such as destruction or deterioration of the contents of the safe deposit box or other reasons), the user shall be liable to compensate this Hotel.
Article 7 — Taking Possession of Safe Deposit Box Contents
7.1 Upon the expiry of the period of use, the user shall take possession of the contents of the safe deposit box.
7.2 This Hotel may request the user to take possession of the contents of the safe deposit box or transfer them to another safe deposit box, even during the period of use, in the event of any of the following:
(a) Deterioration of the contents of the safe deposit box or any other reason attributable to the user causes a nuisance to this Hotel, or there is a risk of such based on this Hotel’s judgment;
(b) The safe deposit box becomes completely or partially unusable due to repair, removal, or any other reasons not attributable to this Hotel.
Article 8 — Disposal of Safe Deposit Box Contents
8.1 If the user does not take possession of the contents of the safe deposit box within one (1) month after the expiry of the period of use, this Hotel may open the safe deposit box, then administer said articles, or dispose of said articles in such manner, at such time, and at such price as generally deemed appropriate at the time, and if disposal is difficult, this Hotel may discard said articles. When opening the safe deposit box, this Hotel may request the presence of a notary public.
8.2 The expenses for the disposal prescribed in the preceding paragraph shall be borne by the user.
8.3 If the expenses mentioned in the preceding paragraph, the actual cost of the lost key, and other expenses that must be paid by the user are not paid, the proceeds from the disposal described in the preceding Article 8.1 shall be applied to the expenses described herein.
Article 9 — Emergency Measures
If it is legally required to open the safe deposit box; or in the event of a fire, abnormality of articles, or other emergency situations, this Hotel may open the safe deposit box and take measures appropriate under the circumstances, and shall not be liable for any damage arising from the above situations.
Article 10 — Governing Language
These Terms are written in both Chinese, English and Japanese. Should there be any inconsistency or discrepancy between the three versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.
Article 11 — Jurisdiction and Governing Law
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the Chinese court having jurisdiction over the location of the Hotel and settled in accordance with applicable Chinese law.
Article Storage Terms
Article 1 — Storage Period
1.1 The storage period shall be from the date the article is delivered to the Hotel for custody until the specified collection date.
1.2 The specified collection date shall be within one (1) month from the date the article is delivered to the Hotel for custody.
1.3 If no date is specified, the storage period shall be one (1) month from the date the article is delivered for custody.
Article 2 — Collection Person
The person collecting the stored article shall be the person who requested the custody or a third party designated by them.
Article 3 — Confirmation of Collection Person
The collection person, when requesting the return of the stored article, shall submit the collection voucher to the hotel staff responsible for the custody of the article. If the collection person is a third party designated by the person who requested the custody, submission of the collection voucher is not required. However, this Hotel may request them to submit evidence proving they are the rightful collector. The staff member shall exercise reasonable care to confirm the identity of the collector before returning the article. Thereafter, this Hotel shall not assume any responsibility for the article already collected.
Article 4 — Compensation for Damage
4.1 This Hotel shall not be liable for the loss, destruction, deterioration, or other damage to the stored article caused by force majeure as generally defined.
4.2 A person using the article storage service, if they cause damage to this Hotel due to the destruction, deterioration, or any other reason attributable to them regarding the stored article, shall be liable to compensate for it.
Article 5 — Disposal of Articles
5.1 Ordinary Alcohol/Tobacco: e.g., Beer, Chinese spirits (excluding Maotai and Wuliangye) — Opened: Housekeeping will keep for 24 hours; if unclaimed, will be discarded.
5.2 High-grade Alcohol/Tobacco: Maotai, Wuliangye, premium cigarettes — Unopened: Housekeeping will keep for 90 days; if unclaimed, will be given to the finder.
5.3 Food and Beverages: Opened: Housekeeping will keep for 24 hours; if unclaimed, will be discarded. Unopened: Will be kept for 7 days; if unclaimed, will be given to the finder.
5.4 Clothing, Cosmetics, Books, and other items (excluding gold, silver, jade articles, mobile phones, laptops, etc.): Kept for 90 days; if unclaimed, will be given to the finder.
5.5 Articles judged by the Hotel as valuables: If unclaimed after 365 days, the disposal method will be decided by the hotel management.
Article 6 — Emergency Measures
6.1 This Hotel may take emergency measures appropriate under the circumstances in the following cases:
(a) Judicial authorities request the opening or other disposal of the stored article;
(b) Fire, abnormal condition of the article, or other emergency situations.
6.2 In the event of any of the above situations, this Hotel shall not be liable for any damage caused to the stored article.
Article 7 — Governing Language
These Terms are written in Chinese,English and Japanese. Should there be any inconsistency or discrepancy between the three versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.

House Rules
Welcome to Hotel Nikko Changshu. We wish you a pleasant stay and hope you will make full use of our facilities. Hotel guests are kindly requested to observe the rules outlined in Article 10 of the Accommodation Contract to ensure a comfortable and safe stay. If guests do not observe these rules, the Hotel may have to cancel their accommodation and related contracts pursuant to the provisions of Article 7.
1. Refrain from smoking in bed, near flammable decorations or furniture, and from smoking while walking in corridors and the lobby.
2. Refrain from using any personal heating and cooking appliances in the guest rooms.
3. Please refrain from bringing the following items into the Hotel:
(a) Pets. (Except for guide dogs as stipulated by Chinese laws)
(b) Items that produce odors.
(c) Explosive, volatile, or flammable materials.
(d) Unlicensed guns or knives.
(e) Other items that may threaten the safety of other hotel guests.
4. Refrain from gambling or engaging in obscene or immoral acts within the Hotel.
5. Refrain from shouting and singing loudly within the Hotel.
6. Refrain from using drugs or stimulants within the Hotel.
7. The Hotel reserves the right to refuse entry to persons who may cause disease, discomfort, or inconvenience to other guests.
8. Without the consent of management, do not remove any hotel property.
9. If a guest damages or loses hotel property due to their own negligence, the Hotel may request compensation.
10. Without the consent of management, do not use the Hotel for purposes other than accommodation and dining.
11. Do not enter restricted areas of the Hotel.
12. Do not distribute or post advertising flyers, or sell merchandise in public areas of the Hotel.
13. Do not store any personal items or merchandise in public areas of the Hotel.
14. Do not place any items in or near windows that may detract from the Hotel’s appearance.
15. The Hotel is entitled to handle all left-behind, lost, or unclaimed items in accordance with government laws and regulations.
16. The Hotel may request advance payment of charges from guests without a reservation or for same-day check-in reservations.
17. Guests are requested to place all valuables in the safe deposit box. Relevant information is available at the front desk. We are not responsible for the loss or theft of items not deposited with us.
18. In-room safes are operated and controlled by the guest. The Hotel assumes no responsibility for items placed inside by guests.
19. Please ensure the door is properly locked when leaving the room. When inside the room, always secure the door chain as well. Before opening the door, look through the peephole or open the door only slightly with the chain attached.
20. When signing bills at the Hotel’s restaurants and bars, please show your room key or accommodation voucher to the cashier.
21. A surcharge will be added to telephone charges when making overseas calls using the guest room telephone.
22. When inviting visitors into your guest room, please inform your visitors to proactively register at the front desk.
23. The Hotel may refuse accommodation to underage guests unless a prior agreement has been made with their guardian.
24. If you wish to change your accommodation period, please notify the front desk staff in advance.
25. When the accounts payable exceed the amount set by management, the Hotel may request immediate payment.
26. Please settle your bill using cash, bank card, or payment methods acceptable to management. The Hotel does not accept corporate or personal checks.
27. Using photographs taken within the Hotel for commercial or public purposes is illegal, and violators will be prosecuted.
28. A 10% service charge and applicable taxes will be added to your bill.
29. Yukata robes and slippers are provided in your guest room. Please do not step out of your guest room wearing the yukata or slippers.
30. If there are indications that the guest is or is involved with anti-social groups such as violent groups, or if the guest acts against public order and good morals, upon discovery of such information, the guest will be refused accommodation regardless of whether the guest has a reservation or is already using the facilities.
31. The Hotel has a designated delivery pickup area. Please collect items yourself. The Hotel does not support the delivery of any takeout food items.
